God Isn't Broke
by Pastor Ron

Greetings Friends.

I am so excited about what God did today that I have to share this with you. It is a bit of a story and I need to back up to about 9 weeks ago.

I was listening to a voice mail message from a friend of mine who is in professional counselling. While I was listening to the message God told I was going to pay for her next appointment. Although I had very little money I said I would. On the Wednesday I gave her a cheque for the cost of the session. That night before I went to bed God said to me that He had mailing coming for me the next day. The following day I went to my mailbox and in it was something from a friend. As well she sent a cheque to me for the same amount as the cost of the counselling session. God was paying that bill.

About four weeks ago God gave me a vision of someone writing me a cheque. I prayed for it to come once or twice over the next two weeks. However after that my bank account got down to about $18.00. I prayed for God to send me the money I had seen in the vision. For about 4 days straight I was given food by various people. I never went hungry at all. I had more than enough food. For example I had noodles here but no sauce. On one of those four days someone left a can of tomato sauce outside my room. When I talked to him 2 days later he said that when he was grocery shopping the Holy Spirit said I needed it. God took very good care of me until I had money come to me. I continued to pray for God to send me some money. As well one of the guys here came to me and said he would not be able to pay his next Bible College tuition cost because he or his family do not have the money to do so. God said to start believing him to have the money. He told the Bible college he didn't have the money and asked if his cheques could be withheld from cashing for 2 weeks - they agreed. At that same time I told him that God was going to provide him with the money because that is what God said. He told his mother he had the money taken care of and that a friend was going to give it to him.

On Friday, March 20th, 1999 one of the guys from the dorm came to me and said that God told him to give me $50.00. That night we walked to the bank machine and he withdrew $50.00. That night God also said the money would be coming to me on Wednesday, March 24th, 1999 and I was at peace about it the whole thing - including the money for the young man needed to pay his tuition here at the Bible College.

On Monday God said the money was coming on the Wednesday. On Tuesday night God said that he had mail for me. On Wednesday, March 24th, 1999 I went to my mailbox and there was an envelope in it. It had no writing on it, but it was stuffed. I ripped it opened and it was PACKED FULL of money. I started crying. There had been a third person praying with us sporadically and I ran into him in that hall and I burst into tears and said, "God wasn't lying" We then went to find the person who the money was for. He was playing pool and I told him that we needed to talk to him. He turned to the person he was playing pool with and said, "You win" and came with us. At that point we counted the money. It had $595.00 in it. I have on purpose skipped one detail until now. I always tithe. Malachi 3:10 calls for it. God isn't broke by any means. The Bible says that God will provide for all our needs according to His riches in glory. I also believe in a 100 fold return on all my tithes (Mark 4). Every time I get money I tithe it. As well for employment I tithe from the whole amount before taxes. I said I wanted to give God 10 percent of that money and they had no problem with me doing so. I refuse to steal from God. 10 percent of $595.00 is $59.50. I always round up with God so $60.00 was decided upon. That left $535.00 with the person who the money was for. When the money was counted there was something very interesting about it - there was a $50.00 bill and a $5.00 bill present. 10 percent of $535.00 is $53.00. We decided that $55.00 would be fine --- and that is why God had the person put the $50.00 bill and the $5.00 bill in that envelope. Isn't God neato?

This young man has gone through so much Spiritual growth over the past 6 weeks that I have just been in awe of God. Different people have told me and said that they would believe in God IF THEY HAD A SIGN. I honestly believe the best sign that points to God is a changed life. I have been watching this young man change as he has said to God that he wants to be used and cleansed and purged of unrighteouss and expressed his desire to become a man of God. It has been so exciting seeing God at work. The joy of the Lord is flowing from this man. It is such a blessing knowing him and seeing God's hand on his life.

The young man has just a bit of extra money in his bank account. There was no way he could have paid that last instalment for this semester without that money. I had told him if all else fails I would put it on my Visa and take care of it later. (By the way Visas and other Credit Cards are fine if you pay them off each money ... the problem comes when you don't use them responsibility. The devil would love for us to be in financial bondage.)

I want to encourage each of you to tithe. God does not let your tithes go unnoticed. I would hope that I could show you I am a Christian by living it out and not saying a word. God has spoke for Himself today by doing this. You should see the young man who received this money. He is truly renewed and encouraged. He took a HUGE spiritual growth spurt.

A few people are going to receive this e-mail from me who do not know the Lord yet. If you want to know more about becoming a Christian e-mail me at PastorRon@neptunenet.com .

I hope this encourages you. Keep focused on God!
